Open: a sweeping shot of the canyons and plains where we will be back in about 10 minutes. We fly into the uwyo campus and into the cafeteria where Phil is washing dishes. Phil's a bulky guy that plays nosetackle on UW's football team; Phil runs a solid 5.0 40 and has a lazy eye. He wears his hair pretty long for a football guy.

elk mountain 1974: I was almost seven;
my uncle was a drunk, he was dealing heroin the whole thing was crazy; he was driving home from one of the area drinking holes
he saw the flames…. he swore to us when he burst through the door that there was an airplane or rocketship or something like that inside the flames…. you know we had that airplane crash on lake marie mountain in 57, the one where the mormons all went down….
a potential flying saucer was the last thing on his mind….
he was staying with my mom and dad; he was from philly… he went back to Philadelphia after he got back from Vietnam…. Just couldn't take the hippie shit that was going on…. One of his buddies from Edison high didn't make it home, torn in half by the gooks… anyway this dead guy's mom gives my uncle a motorcycle and heads out here…. He was tanked he was maybe junked up but he saw the ship's entry….
He comes home; it was 10 pm or so… I was just about ready for bed… and comes in ranting about the crash….
We all get in my old man's jeep wagoneer and head out toward the crash site… it was all very exciting… by the time we get to the scene there are already dozens of people hanging around… whatever it was, the it hit the earth pretty hard.. we must've been at the site for twenty minutes or so then the cops and military showed up.
They let us know we would be arrested if we didn't leave…. My dad took us home… my uncle snuck back into the woods….
The next day I wake up and take the two block bike ride into town… the town is crawling with military at this point…. They drove the trucks right through on main street; for years people in town talked about those military trucks came in empty and left with pieces of something that was very very heavy. Planes tend to be very very light.
My uncle claims he saw things running out of that ship at some sort of weird speed and he claimed that the military cats must've fired a thousand rounds at whatever ran or flew into the mountains that night…
After that incident, they moved some people in… cia, nsa, men in black, there was always a woman in the group, they'd stay a year… couple of them stayed for three… they tried integrating into the town, tried to get close to the townspeople… I guess they figured maybe some of us knew something, maybe they were watching to see if the aliens were trying to take over the townspeople's bodies' like invasion of the body snatchers or something…. The government people were in and out of Saratoga for maybe a dozen years, maybe they are still there…
Mcguire is a man of the woods because of an accident and jackknife with a bunch of wood… hauling it out, that's the hard part; mcguire's been invaded by the aliens….

In 1979 - 1980 (the record of the year is unclear), Albuquerque Ufologist Paul Bennewitz and University of Wyoming psychologist/UFOlogist Dr. Leo Sprinkle investigated the story that a deeply troubled woman named Myrna Hansen told them. She claimed that she and her young son had seen a UFO while driving on a rural road near Cimarron, in northeastern New Mexico.
